Using mental health as its curatorial framework, the festival connected contemporary art, public participation and cultural programming into a shared civic experience.
Context
Did You See? – Alter Ego: Annega le Ombre was conceived as a multidisciplinary cultural platform investigating emotional wellbeing and the often invisible dimensions of mental health. Through artistic practices and public participation, the festival invited audiences to reflect on personal and collective experiences that frequently remain unspoken.
Approach
The festival combined contemporary art exhibitions, performances, talks, workshops and community activities within a unified curatorial framework. Rather than presenting mental health through a single discipline, it created multiple points of entry that encouraged dialogue, participation and shared reflection across artistic and public contexts.
Outcome
Over six public days, the festival brought together twenty-one events, seven artists, collaborating organisations, volunteers, regional and provincial funding into a cohesive cultural programme, establishing a recurring platform for interdisciplinary artistic production and community engagement.
