Known Space
Embodying the essence of self-revelation and the exploration of one's sexual identity, my artwork serves as an initial foray into the rediscovery of the individual. Inspired by David Hockney's approach to constructing unified compositions from diverse perspectives, my piece weaves together body parts with symbolic meanings and societal constructs of intimacy. Drawing parallels to the almost mythical attributes of anatomy, the stomach, for instance, becomes a visceral alert of early love, evoking the sensation of butterflies—a universal symbol of infatuation.
In this early work, I immersed myself in the exploration of media, concurrently delving into self-discovery. It marks a phase of attempting to reconfigure my reality, decoding the intricacies of my existence. Through the lens of personal desire, I navigated my own body, its contours becoming a canvas for understanding the nuances of sexual longing. The artwork encapsulates a narrative intricately linked to the portrayed individual's anatomy, inviting viewers to contemplate the intersections of identity, desire, and the profound symbolism embedded within the human form.
